A vibrant outer world cannot be fully experienced without a coherent, grounded, and expansive inner world.
A spiral expands outward from a single point — it symbolizes personal growth, learning, development, and the journey of expansion through life.
Integrative psychotherapy:
Unearth your essence.
Forge your self.
Bask in the full depth of life.
Who we are
Opening in 2027, Cortex & Compassion is an integrative psychotherapy practice rooted in a foundational synthesis of depth psychology, spirituality, and philosophy. We believe this unique convergence creates a deeply supportive and actionable path toward lasting psychological transformation — designed not to be passively explained, but actively experienced.
Our aim is simple: to help you step back from autopilot and cultivate true agency in your life. Our intention is to equip you with rigorous, living tools to navigate your inner world with clarity. The goal isn't just the pursuit of happiness, but the freedom to fully experience it alongside the rich tapestry of life — finding meaning and profound beauty in passion, heartbreak, sadness, and every emotion that has its place, without ever feeling stuck in any single state.
Your time and resources are precious
We don't just hand you a fish, we teach you how to fish.
Our commitments
"You do not simply find yourself; you unearth your essence from beneath the weight of circumstance and conditioning, and then you bravely forge the architecture of who you choose to become."
| 1 Uncovering the Root Understanding Patterns | 2 Weaving New Pathways Shifting the Response | 3 Living with Intention Returning to Presence |
|---|---|---|
| Through depth psychology and targeted modalities, we peel away external conditioning and protective armor to help you reconnect with your buried essence. | Transformation is not freedom from your history, but freedom from being governed by it—transforming old patterns so the past no longer dictates how you meet the present. | Anchored firmly in the present moment and guided by self-compassion, you take the steering wheel and navigate life with agency. |
| "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." — Carl Jung | "And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." — Anaïs Nin | "Man is not disturbed by events, but by the view he takes of them." — Epictetus |
Success is not a permanent state of artificial happiness. When this work takes root, it looks like this:
A new paradigm
Whether you are navigating a season of friction or seeking to elevate an already stable life, you belong here.
When things are difficult, we look far beyond standard diagnoses and superficial symptoms to truly understand what you are facing, building a rigorous, customized protocol for your path forward. When things are going well, you are equally welcome — because true flourishing requires tending, expansion, and continuous calibration, not just crisis management.
Friction
When things are hard
Flourishing
When things are good

Our tools & framework
Much of our work happens beyond language. Patterns live in implicit memory—in the body, reflex, and symbol. We use modalities designed to access these deeper layers, creating lasting change from the root up.
Quantitative EEG (qEEG) is an advanced diagnostic tool that measures electrical activity in the brain. It takes raw brain data and uses computerized analysis to translate it into detailed, colorful topographical brain maps, allowing clinicians to observe how different areas of the brain are functioning and communicating.
Spravato (esketamine) is a prescription nasal spray derived from ketamine, approved for treatment-resistant depression. In controlled clinical trials, Spravato combined with an oral antidepressant achieves a response rate of roughly 50% to 70% in patients who have failed multiple prior medications. Real-world clinical data often mirrors or exceeds this, with success rates reported between 60% and 80%.
TMS is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive brain regions involved in mood regulation. Generally 50% to 60% of patients experience a major reduction (50% or more) in depression symptoms, with some real-world clinical datasets reporting up to 80%.
A signature clinical framework uniting depth psychology, philosophy, and spirituality to address the human experience at its deepest structural level — utilizing rigorous dialogue, archetypal inquiry, and relational resonance to anchor existential meaning, navigate the unconscious, and translate profound inner transformation into daily life.
A targeted, evidence-based therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to access the subconscious mind — helping reframe deep-seated cognitive patterns and accelerate behavioral change by bridging conscious intent with subconscious processing.
A psychotherapy model that views the mind as naturally multiple, composed of distinct sub-personalities or "parts." This approach helps you map your internal ecosystem — distinguishing protective and wounded parts from your core self — to resolve inner conflict, heal old wounds, and restore internal harmony.
Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body, recognizing that our emotions and experiences are not only processed in our minds but also stored and held within our bodies.
Sandplay therapy creates a quiet, tactile bridge between the conscious mind and the unconscious psyche. By arranging miniature figures in a tray of sand, clients bypass the limitations of talk therapy, allowing implicit memories, symbols, and deep emotional landscapes to express themselves directly and take shape in the physical world.
The legendary phoenix — a bird that bursts into flames and rises from its own ashes. Universally symbolizing rebirth, resilience, and transformation.

How the idea was born
The vision for Cortex & Compassion was born from the conviction that human flourishing requires a space that bridges the empirical rigor of modern science with the timeless depth of the human soul.
My journey began in philosophy, driven by the questions that have haunted and inspired humanity for centuries: How do we make meaning of suffering? What is the self? What is our purpose here? Over time, psychology emerged not as a separate discipline, but as philosophy put into lived, practical action.
That pursuit led me to Columbia University for my Master's in Clinical Psychology, where I studied under Dr. Lisa Miller. Her groundbreaking work on the "awakened brain" shattered the boundaries of traditional clinical care by scientifically proving that human beings are hardwired for transcendent awareness, connection, and spirituality. Her longitudinal and neuroimaging research reveals a profound biological reality: cultivating an inner spiritual core yields up to a 90% reduction in major depression risk for vulnerable populations and correlates with measurable cortical thickening in brain regions governing resilience.
Dr. Miller's work validated what my philosophical roots had always suspected: psychological care must transcend the narrow confines of symptom management and pathology. It must expand into the vast, measurable territories of meaning, consciousness, and human potential.
Cortex & Compassion is the realization of that vision.
We stand at an inflection point in mental healthcare. Advances in neuroscience and clinical technology are transforming what we can understand and treat, while depth psychology and centuries of philosophical inquiry offer enduring frameworks for understanding the complexity of human experience. Our work brings these traditions together, pairing the precision of modern science with a deeper inquiry into what it means to be human.
